The Park

The location of where the video starts off is in the park. The synopsis of our video is a girl who is dealing with the bereavement of her boyfriend, in the video we do not see how the boyfriend dies, the video will start off with flash backs of her reminiscing when he was alive, this will be shot in the park, we want them to look as if they are having fun, deeply in love and enjoying themselves. Going to visit the park gave us a range of ideas of where we could film and how we can arrange the characters to create the most accurate and effective scene, to produce a series of realistic flashbacks. In the music video we planned to use the bench as part of the Mise en scene, here the actors will be sitting and laughing, we will use a range of shots; medium shots, to display what they are doing and close up to really display the emotion of the two characters, really enforcing the love the two main characters have for each other. We also plan to use a feature in the park which is surrounded by roses(a flower often associated with love and death, the main themes running through our video), here we will take  medium shots of the actors engaging in general everyday couple activities e.g strolling, kissing, hugging, deep conversation Ect. The last area of the park we will be using is the path way. As a group we felt that this part of the park was perfect for a romantic scene, we would like to have a long shot of them walking down the path towards the end of the flash back, as the flashback proceeds to come to an end the leading male (the boyfriend)  starts to fade away as the lyrics start  “all my friends tell me i should move on, loving you forever can’t he wrong, even though you’are not here I wont move on” Leaving her on the path by herself.

The Graveyard

This will be our second location, as our group’s video involves the death of one of the characters. However the video is focused on how the other character deals with life after the death of this character. So in order to set the scene we have gotten permission to film on church grounds using the church and the outside greenery & grave stones to set the scene. The character will walk through the grounds up to the church and along a path while lip syncing  with a series of close, long and medium shots for a range of different angles. The long and medium shots will provide us the chance to show off location, and set scene. As she walks down the path want to shoot from a worms eye view as we think it will look good and show off our camera skills and knowledge of the different types of shots. We may also have close up shots to denote the emotion of the character, the sadness she feels for the loss of her spouse. From going to the location my group learnt:
It’s a very open location, so we need to be aware of space
Natural sunlight will be our main source of light

This location is just off a main road so sound quality may be a problem, so as a group we will need to discuss the appropriate action to take to ensure that this doesn't affect the video in terms of its professionalism.

The Bedroom

Another location we decided to film in was one of our bedrooms, we wanted to shoot the main character lying down on the bed with her hair is spread all around her, this will be a close up shot just seeing her face and maybe some of her shoulders. This will be the scene showed during the chorus. The light provided for the shot will come from the window that’s just above the bed and from the artificial light from the light bulb.
